Information Services
Energy Exemplar provides fundamental-based market intelligence through our WECC Term information services. Details of the forecast include:
- The WECC forecast is available by 4:30 am (PST) every work day a distinct and comprehensive forecast of the energy prices for the WECC Term Market (9 to 12 months).
- The forecast is based on PLEXOS’ advanced unit commitment and dispatch algorithm and hourly simulation time steps for current quarter, plus next three quarters.
- Real-time information is gathered at over 50 sites to provide the best available short-term forecast. Real-time information includes gas prices, hydro generation, system loads, outages, reservoir elevation levels, and snowpack.
- Energy prices are forecast for major WECC trading hubs and aggregated for on- and off-peak periods throughout the term.
