Leading global solar developer ib vogt has chosen Energy Exemplar’s energy modeling software PLEXOS for in-depth future energy insights in order to further improve the ability to model prices and risks of its assets.

Headquartered in Berlin, Germany, ib vogt is an integrated solar PV developer; designing, engineering, financing, operating, and maintaining solar power plants. With 27 offices across Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific and Africa, ib vogt has a strong growth track record and plans to tackle the global decarbonization challenge.

“At ib vogt, we excel at maximizing the clean energy potential of solar power technology. For our clients around the globe, we manage the entire downstream section of the solar value chain – from PV component selection and solar financing to project development and operational management. A simulation software like PLEXOS can help us better understand the increasing complexity of the energy mix and where we should be heading towards, both in the short term and in the long term. We’re delighted to be able to support our operations and planning with such a powerful tool.”

- Cristiano Francese, Head of Commercial & PPA, ib vogt

The company signed a 3-year contract for PLEXOS for electricity modeling, its European Dataset, as well as PLEXOS Cloud capabilities. Targeting projects around 50-300 MWp capacity, ib vogt anticipates leveraging PLEXOS to improve the commercial performance of its assets through hedging, asset and project evaluation, and price forecasting.

ib vogt is also expanding business model to become an independent power producer (“IPP”) that develops, owns, and operates solar and battery storage projects. This will add significantly more development opportunities to the company’s already large portfolio.

“We’re excited to be working with ib vogt, one of the world’s leading developers in utility-scale PV solar. We look forward to supporting their mission and vision to decarbonize the global electricity sector, and playing an active part in solving the challenges along the way with the technology and insights we provide.”
