Markets, Financial Contracts & Bid-Based Modeling
The de-regulation of the energy markets and the technological breakthroughs in the energy transition bring many more stakeholders in the energy markets. Many companies have moved to a deregulated market structure where different players can freely participate in the markets. PLEXOS provides options to model and simulate the energy market behavior and offers the functionality to maximize the company's portfolio profits, or provide a market clearing engine as well as balancing optimization approach to the market operators.

PLEXOS Modeling Uncertainty for Renewables & Batteries
The increased penetration of Renewables brings uncertainties into the system. Often, batteries (BESS) or other energy storage systems are required to guarantee uninterrupted supply from these types for intermittent resources. In this session, we will have practical examples using Monte Carlo sampling and Stochastic optimization to apply uncertainty to the simulation.

RTC Renewables, Storage, PPA/Energy Import
With increased Renewables in the system, companies need to provide Round-the-Clock (RTC) uninterrupted power in keeping with contractual obligations. Companies need to assess and mitigate the risk of PPA contracts or other types of contracts to meet load. In this session, there will be detailed examples of meeting RTC with different types of contracts. In addition, the corresponding risk associated with each contract type will be reviewed.

Aurora Portfolio Analysis & Optimization
Aurora can perform portfolio optimization using a risk-reward framework and a linear optimization model. Use this capability to lay out the mathematical framework under which the optimization operates. The goal of the optimization is to calculate a user-defined number of optimal portfolios. Portfolios with the highest reward and lowest risk, given the constraints of the portfolio and its acquirable resources, are reported on an efficient frontier format.
