Talha Ali & Charles Banke
Talha Ali is a Senior Energy Market Analyst and has over nine years of experience in the power systems industry. Mr. Ali is currently part of Energy Exemplar’s Solution Engineering team. Mr. Ali’s broad range of experience spans advising clients on resource planning and optimization, price forecasting, and nodal assessments. Prior to Energy Exemplar, Mr. Ali worked at ICF supporting various clients on the buy side and sell-side transactions of renewable resources (i.e. solar and wind) and combined-cycle assets in ERCOT. Further, Mr. Ali brings in production cost modeling expertise from his work at Sargent & Lundy, advising clients on resource retirement studies, strategic microgrid development, and planning, production cost model development, along with performing steady-state power flow analysis utilizing Siemens PSS/e software. Mr. Ali received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and is currently completing his MBA at the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.
Mr. Banke is a Senior Energy Market Analyst on the Solution Engineering team at Energy Exemplar. He has a strong background primarily focused on regulated electric utilities, specifically in integrated resource planning and trading operations. Prior to joining Energy Exemplar, he worked at Arizona Public Service (APS) for several years, where he was the principal modeler for the APS 2020 IRP, which was submitted to the Arizona Corporation Commission in June of 2020. He also has expertise in managing the IRP stakeholder engagement process, handling the coordination of communication and modelling efforts between internal and external key players. Mr. Banke holds a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Arizona State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University.
