These enhancements are built to support the real workflows that drive planning, trading, and operations every day.
PLEXOS® is a unified platform for energy decision-making, built for fundamental modeling with the PLEXOS® engine at the core. It supports planning, portfolio, and operations in one cloud-enabled platform designed for collaboration and scale. AI capabilities are embedded to support real analyst workflows. The platform is secure, transparent, and enterprise-ready for regulated and commercial environments.
PLEXOS® 12 builds on the foundation with improvements that help teams model faster, plan with confidence, and adopt new capabilities without disrupting existing workflows. Recent engine enhancements include the new LT LOLP Target algorithm, Kron-reduction Version 2 with improved nodal support, CHP reserve contribution (backpressure), gas pipeline backflow and excess capacity outputs, sample chronology features, and overall performance improvements.

PLEXOS® Cloud brings simulation, collaboration, and automation into a unified environment so teams can standardize workflows, reduce friction, and scale modeling across projects and stakeholders.
Automatic pre-simulation validation helps teams catch input configuration and object-level issues earlier by flagging actionable warnings before a run is executed. This reduces failed runs, avoids unnecessary compute usage, and speeds up troubleshooting.
Direct cloud storage integration (via DataHub Connectors) enables secure connectivity to Azure Blob Storage and Amazon S3. Enterprise teams can use their existing cloud storage infrastructure without duplicating data, while maintaining governed and secure access to external datasets within their modeling workflows.
PLEXOS® Intelligence is an AI-embedded capability in PLEXOS® that helps you reach trusted results faster by automating time-consuming modeling tasks and guiding key decisions. It reduces manual effort and shortens the path from question to outcomes, so teams can act with confidence, sooner.
PLEXOS® Intelligence now includes a human-in-the-loop escalation path. Users can create a ticket or start live chat with the Energy Exemplar support team without leaving the platform, helping resolve issues efficiently.
PLEXOS® Insights delivers answers without requiring customers to build and run models themselves. Each Insights product is a cloud subscription that provides a fully calibrated PLEXOS® market model, recurring data updates, and structured scenarios, delivered through browser dashboards and APIs with nothing to install. Outputs are explainable and auditable, with a clear upgrade path when teams require additional flexibility.

PLEXOS® Playbooks are packaged, simulation-ready bundles that help teams move from setup to results faster. Each PLEXOS® Playbook includes a calibrated dataset that is updated on a recurring basis, along with prebuilt scenarios and sensitivities, editable model objects and constraints, and with dashboards and/or Excel outputs. Playbooks run in PLEXOS® Cloud and include governance features such as version control, metadata tagging, and changelogs for traceability.

Simulation Ready datasets are Energy Exemplar’s foundation layer for modeling: prebuilt, benchmarked, Aurora and PLEXOS® datasets maintained through recurring updates that reduce manual data collection, cleaning, and calibration. Each dataset is structured, quality-tested, and versioned for traceability, providing a base model that teams can run, modify, or extend in Aurora, PLEXOS® or PLEXOS® Cloud.

Adapt2 supports participation in modern energy markets by reducing operational friction across ISO participation, settlements, tagging, and renewable certificate management. It helps automate data exchange, streamline settlements, manage Renewable Energy Certificate (REC)/ Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) lifecycles and registry updates, and connect front-, mid-, and back-office teams through integrated workflows.

Aurora is an energy modeling software offering designed for the North American market, supporting long-term capacity expansion, portfolio analysis, production cost forecasting, and pricing outlooks. Aurora supports multiple input and output data formats, including SQL Server, SQLite, and MySQL, and integrates with PLEXOS® Cloud for scalable simulation processing.
Aurora 16.0.1007 is available in the Client Portal. This release includes performance improvements and feature enhancements. Key updates include support for applying New Resource Coefficients in zonal studies, including use of the Resource Modifier Table. Scripting functions for working with the output database have been updated to improve compatibility with Microsoft SQL Server. Fixes have also been implemented for Parameter Sets and Change Sets.
